First thirteen days

I made a few choices late in 2013 and everyone said that 2014 was going to be a great year for me.

New years day came and went. Watched the Rose Parade and wished for warmer weather.

The rest of the week went along quietly.  The downhill ride started on the 4th. My four month old grand daughter was admitted to the hospital with breathing issues. It ended up being four days until her lungs cleared up.

January 5th was our family pot luck dinner. It was great to see my brothers and my sister with their children.  It's fun to sit back and watch the young adults joke like we did when we were younger. That evening I came home to find my beloved Mr Jinx had been electrocuted after chewing through a cord. I laid there on the floor next to him and cried for so long.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday brought me car problems which cost a few hundred dollars.

The 12th was the day the foster care came for my beagle.  I had chosen to surrender him but had to get rid of a parasite he had before hand. A re check gave the all clear earlier in the week. A bittersweet day and too soon after loosing Jinx.

Now we arrive to the 13th. Overslept and was two hours late to work.

At the end of the day I must admit that I'm not going to let these early weeks in 2014 get me down. Instead I will tell you that I am grateful for the unconditional love of my beloved pets. I am grateful that I have a car. I am grateful that I have a job.  I am mostly grateful for my family that help me through the gray days.

On to a better day tomorrow.
